The bedroom can be the leading place for inspiration. It's where we let our true colors shine through. Here are a few easy and inexpensive ways that you can vamp up your room, dorm, or apartment so that it is as inspiring as it can be.
1) Show off your shoes! Shoes are a great collection that everyone has. Use an old bookcase or shelves from a book store. You could even arrange them against the wall around your room, or on top of your dresser. They'll add personality to any room. If you're not a shoe person, you can show off your other collections! DVDs, magazines, guitars, anything -- just show em off!
2) On the same note -- show off your clothes and jewelry. I bought a cheap garment rack from Target and I am in love with it. There's no better decoration that shows off your personality than the clothes you decorate yourself with. Hang up your sheer clothes over your windows for a cool effect. Cover your walls with your necklaces instead of shoving them in a drawer. Let your treasures delightfully litter your room! Take inspiration from them! Using these as decoration won't cost you an extra penny and you'll be inspired to wear all of your jewelry, clothes and shoes if they're out in the open.
3) Embellishments! Nothing makes a room feel cozier than a dreamcatcher and fairy lights. Borrow the christmas tree lights in the off season and make your room more inviting and ethereal. Make your own dreamcatchers and hang them from the ceiling to ward off nightmares. Recycle that party banner or make your own to add a little cheer to your room. It's your space and you can do whatever you want with it.
4) The most important step is to surround yourself with your heroes, your dreams, your friends and your family. This is what will inspire you to do your best everyday. Cover your walls with anything that drives you. Write your favorite quotes or lyrics on your wall, or on poster board if you can't mess up your wall. Pin your heroes around you, or use ticky tack. If you're afraid that this will make things look too cluttered then devote a small section to your pictures and arrange them neatly, like a grid. Put it somewhere where you look the most, and take in all you can from them.
