My Favorite Pair of Shoes

I am a hardcore shoe lover but ever since I purchased Steve Madden's Eltonn, I can't find another shoe that lives up to it (not COMPLETELY true but I am seriously obsessed). These are the exact ones I got:

I am really into glitter and loafers so this is the perfect combination. These shoes are very, very lightweight which makes them feel like slippers. They are also extremely comfortable and do not rub at the back of my feet or hurt my toes. I have received SO many compliments, even from males! My boyfriend tells me I look like Cinderella, my cousin told me I looked like a fairy, and my bosses (I work at a shoe store) told me they are gorgeous. Of course, the females love them even more and I am always told how adorable they look on my feet. I highly recommend them as they can be worn casual or dressy with a nice pair of pants. They come in many different colors, patterns, etc., so definitely check them out!

Asymmetrical Hemlines

I recently scored a plain back, cotton, braided strapped dress with a shorter front hemline and a longer back. I tried it on, unsure if I could pull it off (I'm a mere 5'1"). But as I stepped out of the dressing room to get my friend's opinion, an older woman gushed at how amazing it looked on me. Not only did that give me some new-found confidence, but my ability to feel comfortable in a dress that is so funky yet simple, made me sure of what a great find I had encountered. Here is the exact dress but in yellow:

I'm loving this trend because it can be casual or dressy and is different without being too wild. You may not be able to think you can pull it off like I did, but everything looks different off the hanger and on your body! Here are some dresses that I love in a similar style:

My Favorite Website: Polyvore.com

Polyvore logo

If you don't already know the website Polyvore.com, you need to visit it immediately. My love of fashion grows more and more every time I visit, as my homepage is littered with awesome sets of clothing that users I "follow" have put together. I guess you could say I'm addicted. The endless (literally) possibilities of clothes, bags, shoes, and accessories are at the click of a mouse. Even the super-luxe and haute couture pieces are at your disposal.

Although creating outfits on Polyvore is extremely entertaining and allows your imagination to run wild, it is also upsetting. I have all of these clothes to play around with but I can't actually wear them!  But, when I receive notifications of new followers, new comments, or "likes", I once again get a warm feeling inside. I love showing off my creativity and really appreciate when others take notice.

I was inspired by Runwaydreamz.com, an amazing website that sells custom, vintage, denim shorts that you can't find anywhere else. They will land you many compliments and head-turns, guaranteed! Here are a couple of my favorite pieces:

If you are a fan of Etsy, look through these sellers' shops as they have many more adorable selections or search "vintage denim studded shorts" for a plethora of awesome items! Enjoy!!

Vintage Chanel Costume Jewelry

One reason I am so interested in fashion is because it is in my blood. I am lucky enough to say that my dad worked for Chanel in NYC, for about 20 or so years, in the 80's and 90's. No, he did not design clothes (although we have a framed sketch in our house) but he was their budget manager which is obviously very important to the company. Some goodies I have inherited include a jumbo tote, a bucket bag, and a diagonal-quilted chain bag, silk scarves, ties, and of course, lots and lots of jewelry. Some of it was my mom's and some my dad's mother but either way, I feel so blessed to be able to call these pieces my own. I wear the scarves in warmer weather with a military or leather jacket, for example, and only sometimes carry around the bags (love them but am very scared about getting the leather scuffed) and to complete an outfit, often, with the jewels. My friend Pablo and I did a mini photo-shoot in our school's biggest building just so I could share some of my treasures with readers!

Chanel

From necklaces, to clip-on earrings, from gold to silver, I have quite a variety of different pieces.

Chanel jewelry

How baller are these hoops? They're clip-on, and damn heavy, so excuse my droopy lobe! They are my Grammy's (my mom's mom) and they once fell off her ear at a buffet and landed in chocolate sauce. Luckily, she recovered them but I think its a hilarious story. ;) I wish I had the confidence to rock these in the real world, not just a photo-shoot!

Chanel jewelry

This necklace is a bunch of ties and I love it.

Chanel jewelry

The silver collection and the gold bangle.

Chanel jewelry

I love this gold chain with the big emblem. I wear it all the time because its simple but makes a statement...not too flashy!

Chanel jewelry

My favorite! It is so 80's but it makes such a statement.

Tell me what you think!
