The New Black

No matter where I go, all I have been seeing lately is navy blue. Honestly, having worked at Victoria’s Secret up until recently, all I have been wearing was black. Black skirts. Black shirts. Black blazer. Black shoes. BLACK BLACK BLACK! It got to the point where I was just feeling like enough is enough. I was so sick of wearing black that I would wear every color I could before the weekend came and I had to go to work.

I recently got a new job and was so glad that the dress code had recently changed that we could wear navy blue blazers and dark blue jeans. I searched high and low for a blazer until I found one from Gap that I fell in love with. The details on the blazer are, in my opinion, what makes it original. There are two pockets on one side which I thought was a great touch since I work in retail and always need lip gloss or my Eos with me. There is also black trimming on the collar and lapels. Because I'm so petite, it is hard to find a nice fitting blazer, since I feel like most of the time they just look so big on me. I’ve also found some super comfortable and inexpensive cardigans at H&M that were only $20.

I haven’t gotten the chance to buy a new bag in awhile, so I went online to look for one. I usually carry gold, brown or black bags so I was looking for a different color, preferably navy. I found one that I absolutely fell in love with. Not only for the color but I fell in love with the silhouette of the bag. It was one that I never really seen before, not to mention it could be worn as a crossbody bag.

Most of the time before I go shopping I always look online to see what may be in stores. It has become somewhat of a habit; I like to know what to look for when I go so I have somewhat of a mental list in my head. I was looking on the Hollister website and I found some blue jeggings that I absolutely love. The best part is that they are corduroy and I am so glad that corduroy is making a huge comeback.
