While I couldn't get enough of checking out the fashion week shows, it’s hard to get excited about the fall 2011 clothes that are parading down the runways when my mind is stuck on planning my spring wardrobe. Thankfully, there were plenty of shutterbugs storming the fashion week tents and snapping street style photos to inspire our outfits now.

Scott Shuman aka The Satorialist is one of the pioneering street style photographers and always makes the rounds at the major fashion shows, using his eye for detail to spot the best dressed people around. I love this shot of a lovely New Yorker in an all gray palette. Gray is one of the chicest neutrals and is a great way to transition into spring dressing since it’s a lighter color.

Tommy Ton, known for his street style blog Jak & Jil has quickly become one of the darlings of the fashion world and now shoots street style for major publications including Style.com. This fashionista, shot in Milan by Tommy, is rocking one of the spring’s hottest trends, mixed prints. This look is actually easier to pull off than you think, just check out our guide to mixing prints.

The ‘70s look is going to be huge for spring and this lovely lady pulls it off effortlessly. We can all rock this unfussy look with a pair of bell bottom jeans, a loose fitting button up and an oversized blazer on top.

A maxi skirt is a great transitional piece to have, as demonstrated here by Michelle Bobb-Parris who runs the blog Who is Bobb Parris and was shot outside of the London shows. Wear it now as she does with a leather jacket, socks and chunky sandals and strip off the layers as the temperatures raise.
