One of the best parts of Autumn is the ability to layer Fall jackets with the rest of your style. One of the ways I have found these jackets to be best utilized is through variety. By this, I mean that jackets with different options are extremely helpful when trying to pull together a good look. I own two jackets from Hollister, and each have the option to button up or zip up, and each jacket also looks great with the collar up or down. Not only do these options make the jackets warmer, but they can combine with different shirts to look drastically different.
Another great variation that one can get from a Fall jacket is the zip up trajectory. While my own style is the straight zipper, many jackets these days zip diagonally, which allows part of the inside to stick out. This contrast is great for layering with a long sleeve shirt and undershirt, creating a multi-tiered look. This style is prolific with leather jackets, which is great because the contrast has yet another level because of the silver zipper on top of the black leather.
Finally, hoodies are great for Fall because they are lightweight and casual. While jackets are better for looking put-together and a little more prepared, hoodies are so easy that it's hard to ignore them. Practically the uniform for students in the Fall, jeans and a hoodie not only keep you comfortable and warm, but the hoodie can be pulled off if you warm up too much. When you find yourself running out the door because you hit snooze too many times and don’t even have time for breakfast, a hoodie is the go-to option. There is no fuss about what to match with it because it will go with just about anything!
