I honestly don’t know how I got my personal style -- I mostly dress in simple colors and I’m not into showy designs on my clothes (Ed Hardy = barf-aronies). I’m going to say that most of my fashion savvy comes from observing celebs and what they wear and my current fascination is none other than Miss Blake Lively.
The first episode of Gossip Girl aired in September 2007 and that’s when Blake stepped into the limelight. (Yes, I’m aware that she appeared in some movies before then like The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, but she didn’t stand out then, IMO.) Only 2 short years later, she’s become a major celebrity with young girls wishing they could be her and fashion designers clamoring for her to wear their designs.
Originally, girls coveted her fashion sense (or her stylists). But this week the New York Times reported that “Blake Lively Hair” is now one of the most asked for hair styles at salons across the nation. Hairstylists are deeming it the “New Rachel” phenomenon. Although I’m not going to go out, dye my hair blond and ask for it to be styled like hers, it’s kinda nice to know I’m not the only one who’s in lurve with this Gossip Girl.
