Easter Inspirations

Remember when you were little and painted Easter eggs with pretty yellow, blue, purple and pastel colors? Now you can do the same thing with your makeup, hair and wardrobe!

When it comes to eyes, my best advice is to experiment with the pastel colors and see what works best for you. First, apply foundation to your lids so that your eyeshadow will stay on longer and will have a smoother application. Then line your eyes top and bottom (or choose) with a black eye liner to make them pop.

Choose two pastels to cover the part of your eyes closest to your eyebrows with a 2/3 and 1/3 ratio. Then paint the area below with another pastel shade. If you want to subdue the look, mix brown eyeshadow into the colors. You can also line the lower bottom of your eyes with a pastel blue, or extend the color out to the sides of your eyes. Finish the look with black mascara. There's no one right way to do this so have fun!

Clothes:

Choose styles that have ruffles, flowing sleeves, bows and embroidery. Nothing can be too feminine for this look!  In order to avoid looking like the Easter Eggs in your basket, I would stick to two pastel colors on your outfit. If you have a flowing angel top, pair it with fitted jeans or black jeggings. It's important to not wear too much billowy clothing too. Cinch the waist with a belt or wear a tight tank top if you have a flowy ankle length skirt.

 Hair:

Pretty waves would look great for this look. The best curls come from a french braid that's left in overnight with hair spray.

A greek-like hair piece would add a fun touch to the look!

Shoes:

Your choice of footwear is up to you. For a nighttime look, some pastel pink heels would look great. Sea foam green flats can be fun for a daytime accent.

How to Dress When Meeting Your Boyfriend’s Parents

If you think that finding a great guy to be with is difficult enough, wait till the time comes for you to meet his parents! This undeniable milestone in your relationship entails making a good first impression – and of course, this starts with knowing how to dress when meeting your boyfriend’s parents for the first time.

Since first impressions pave the way to establishing a relationship with your guy’s folks, make sure you are prepared for that day. Aside from thinking about how to speak and act in front of your boyfriend’s parents, you should also figure out how to dress when meeting your boyfriend’s parents for the first time.

Here are a few tips on how to dress when meeting your boyfriend’s parents:

cute black and white dress

· Opting for a dress is always a good choice. Short of outdoor sports, a dress covers all possible activities your boyfriend’s parents might have planned. Also, when you don a dress, you look very much like a lady; after all, parents believe that only a lady deserves to be with their son.

· Go for a classy dress; forego your wild fashion sense in the meantime and put yourself in their shoes: would you think highly of a lady wearing a dress like yours? If you want to wear this fab minidress you were saving for a similar occasion, think again. It wouldn’t matter how tasteful the dress is; it would still seem “inappropriate” to a mother who wants to criticize the woman who has captured her son’s heart.

· When it comes to color, you can choose any hue of your preference as long as it is not too bright or too bold. Jewel tones, pastel colors, and neutrals are safe choices.

· Anyone who knows how to dress when meeting a boyfriend’s parents will tell you that your makeup should be kept to a minimum. Try a pink gloss or lipstick, light blush on, and very light eye makeup. This is not the occasion for smoky eyes.

· Ask your boyfriend for tips. The more you know about them, the more you will know how to dress when meeting your boyfriend’s parents for the first time.

Pretty vintage accessory

· Put on a vintage accessory. Your boyfriend’s mother is likely to notice it and it may become a great icebreaker.

· Choose a classic bag. For instance, a leather bag shows that you have finesse and good taste in accessories.

Shoe Art

In a world so full of beauty and vibrance, why let your wardrobe fade into darkness?  Every piece in your closet should speak with excitement and joy.  Who has the loudest voice?  The shoe, of course.

A fabulous pair of shoes can transform your entire look, right down to the soul.  That Dolce dress may be something fierce, but pair it with cheap flip-flops and you are going to have a serious problem.  On the other hand, I am completely sure that a Manolo could make a potato sack look sexy.  Not that I am suggesting a potato sack as an acceptable garment, of course.

What makes a pair of shoes great?  Distinction, quality and sex appeal.  This season, designers are doing incredible things with footwear.  Many shoes even appear to have been taken from a great art museum.  Let us begin with “The Emperor”.  Design legend, Valentino has an amazing Sculpture Lace Pump, adorned with delicate, shining crystals.  The shoe has a beautiful lace overlay that seems to come alive as it dances around the ankle.  Currently, the shoe can be found at Neiman Marcus, for a little less than $5,000.

Looking to draw some foot attention without becoming homeless?  Pick up the Kathy Holiday Peep Toe from Forever 21.  In brilliant, attention grabbing turquoise, the shimmering satin features a feminine bow and 4.5” covered heel.  Pair this shoe with a vibrant, floral dress and you could not look more alive.  At around $20, you can even afford a cute clutch to bring along.

Whether you choose pricey and lacy or budget-friendly satin, make sure that your shoes make a statement!  A cute dress and smoky eyes will do wonders, but the shoe is a deal breaker.  The heel should be as high as you can manage, the color vibrant, and the details flawless.  Now to perfect that walk, and you are ready for those shoes!

Jeggings

Maybe you've heard of the new craze...maybe not...either way JEGGINGS are here to stay? We'll see...

As you may have guessed, these pants are a hybrid between leggings and jeans (mainly skinny jeans). Although personally I am not really a huge legging or skinny jean fan, jeggings may be the new choice for my lower half. Here's why:

1. Some types of Jeggings have ELASTIC WAISTS! This is wonderful for people (like myself) that try on jeans that fit in the legs but sometimes are too small around the waist.

2. The colors usually come in dark blue or black which are super flattering for any body type!

3. Unlike leggings, they aren't sheer. You don't need to wear a long shirt or sweater to cover the upper half of your legs!

4. You can find them cheap! Some are as little $19.

5. They are good pants for travel...the elasticity makes them easy to fold in suitcases and they don't take up as much room as regular jeans.

6.  Versatility: They can be dressed up with heels or dressed down with a cardigan and scarf.
ENJOY!
